With a blank canvas like Katy’s Palace – it’s hard not to imagine the possibilities… We’re stepping back in time and having a look at some of our favourite themes at Katy’s – let it inspire your next event!
Alice in Wonderland
“But I don’t want to go among mad people,” Alice remarked.
“Oh, you can’t help that,” said the Cat: “we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.”
“How do you know I’m mad?” said Alice.
“You must be,” said the Cat, “or you wouldn’t have come here.”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
Give your friends a night to escape and one to remember – in a land where no one grows up. An event where anything goes and the more colourful, the better.
Kiss your 20s goodbye in style! Let loose and celebrate the forthcoming “best years of your life”. They say that real happiness begins at 33 – which makes this a decade of hedonic celebration – why not do it in Katy’s style! The venue set-up complements any classy 30-something year old, for those who would want a stage for a band (or simply that rock star feeling), or a piano for the more classically inclined.
* A fun side note: why not include whiskey tasting.
Join us through the decades:
During the time of prohibition and Bob haircuts (which are maybe best left forgotten), we saw the era of fedoras and flapper dresses, where Gatsby and Gangsters were all the rage. This versatile decade is colourful and classy, where your décor can turn art deco, and the music – jazz.
Be it age or decade, the 60’s is often a favourite go-to for event styling.
Hopefully a few of your party guests will remember the time of Mary Poppins, Andy Warhol, tie dye and neon colours. The VW bus became iconic, and barbies and lava lamps were at their peak. Themes for the 60s can go many ways:
• James Bond/Casino
• Breakfast at Tiffany’s
• Flower Power/Tie-Dye Hippie
And one of Katy’s all-time favourites… Steampunk.
Steampunk is defined as “a genre of science fiction that has a historical setting and typically features steam-powered machinery rather than advanced technology.”
Reinventing the Industrial era – if Katy’s can take on Steampunk, there’s no event we cannot “do”.
